Projects connect customers with daily work. They bundle tasks, time tracking, services and invoices in a central container. From the first idea to the final invoice – everything is linked and traceable at any time.
Project managementEverything in one placeEach project has its own master data record with project name, customer, status, start date and optional description. The project number is assigned automatically and serves as a stable, organization-wide reference. Responsible employees and standard hourly rates can be stored. All master data can be supplemented and adjusted at any time – without affecting already recorded times or invoices.
Each project is assigned a billing model upon creation – Hourly (effort-based) or Fixed Price. For hourly projects, recorded time entries are considered billable services and are transferred directly to invoices. For fixed-price projects, the agreed price is charged – time tracking serves exclusively for internal effort tracking and is automatically non-billable.
Projects go through the statuses Draft, Active, Paused, Completed and Archived. Active projects allow the recording of times, services and expenses. Paused projects remain fully preserved but can optionally be locked for new bookings. Archived projects no longer appear in the overview but remain available for documentation and billing at any time. Archiving never deletes data.
From an accepted quote you can create a project directly, choosing the billing model independently of the quote. Via checkbox you can adopt quote line items as tasks in the new project – for each selected line item, a task with linked service is created. The link between quote and project is preserved and enables later analytics.
If a project is linked to a quote, the project detail shows the comparison between quoted and actual effort. For hourly projects, you see quoted vs. recorded hours and charged amount. For fixed-price projects, you see the quoted fixed price vs. actual effort and profitability. This way you can see at a glance whether the quoted effort was met – regardless of hourly or fixed price.
Each project has a compact overview page with the most important metrics at a glance: total recorded hours, open services, open invoices and current project status. Recent activities show current progress. The overview serves for quick orientation and does not replace detailed reports. Planned extensions include budget planning, project progress in percent and milestones.
